The nursery school built by SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft. will welcome children from the 2026 school year.

Sopron's newest nursery school was officially handed over on Wednesday, according to MTI. The new kindergarten branch of the Hunyadi János Evangelical Kindergarten, Primary School and Elementary School of Arts, the Virágoskert Evangelical Kindergarten, was completed by SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft.. The four-classroom institution was built on behalf of the Evangelical Church in Hungary on a 5082 m² site, with a usable floor space of 1243 m².

Our newspaper followed the progress of the project; you can read more about the topping-out ceremony here. This is not the first church facility associated with the company SWIETELSKY. Project manager Gábor Kiss previously told our newspaper:

„It is a great pleasure that, after the St. Michael's Church in Sopron. I believe that, like the previous ones, this project will also result in a truly impressive building, and I am very proud that two facilities located right next to each other will be associated with SWIETELSKY Magyarország and my name.”

The facility is expected to open at the start of the 2026 academic year.

20,000 seats in a renovated environment

On the occasion of the blessing of the institution, Miklós Soltész, State Secretary for Church and Nationality Relations at the Prime Minister's Office, said:,

Two hundred nurseries have been built or renovated in the country so far as part of the church's nursery development programme.

Miklós Soltész added that, with the cooperation of the Catholic, Reformed and Evangelical churches, one hundred new nurseries had been built and one hundred had been renovated or expanded in the country, which means that 20,000 places have been renovated and a further 7,800 new places have been created. The Lutheran Church has renovated or established 850 places in recent years, he said, adding that new nurseries have been completed in Kecskemét, Veszprém and Sopron, and the building in Bakonycsernye is expected to be handed over in February.

Prefabricated technology was also used

The building is based on a reinforced foundation with a 30-centimetre reinforced base plate. Prefabricated shell walls and PTH masonry were used as main walls.

In addition, the placement and dimensioning of the basic fittings to be installed in the prefabricated walls posed a more serious design challenge due to modifications to the electrical plans; moreover, the cross-section and alignment of the basic cables installed in the false ceiling space had to be specified with extreme precision for the manufacture of the walls. To support this design work, 3D BIM models were created in contractor implementation, which greatly facilitated coordination.
