The four-lane road between the two Transdanubian cities is already in the technical handover phase

The technical handover of the four-lane Route 83 will begin on 1 September, according to infopapa.hu. As previously indicated, the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium investment will be implemented in two sections over a distance of 36 kilometres. Fifteen structures and two separate-level junctions, as well as a railway overpass, will be built on the 18.4-kilometre section between Pápa and the Tét-dél junction on the road connecting to Pápa Airport. The contractor for this section is Duna Aszfalt Zrt., with EuroAszfalt Kft. participating in the work as a subcontractor.

On the 17.6 km section between the Tét-dél junction and Győr, eight structures and four separate level junctions are being built, this section is being built by Soltút Kft., with Colas-csoport working as subcontractor.

The information just published by infopapa.hu was communicated to Médiacentrum by Dr. Tamás Áldozó, Mayor of Pápa, after the municipality of Pápa, as the municipality involved in the project, received an invitation to the start of the procedure on Friday. The technical handover will take 30 days, according to the law, but the new four-lane road can only be used by road users after the official handover, until then it is forbidden and dangerous to drive on the main road, they say.
