The construction of a two-kilometre-long section linking the bicycle paths to the city of Tata has begun, the Komárom-Esztergom county municipality said on 4 April.

According to the information provided, the investment has received 300 million forints in EU funding. During the construction, a cycle path will be built from Fényes Bath to Tópart Street. According to the data in the Public Transport Notice, the work will be carried out by FTK-Építő Kft..

The route will be marked out on existing, low-traffic roads, and a separate cycle lane will be built from Alkotmány Street to the Által-ér stream. The investment, which is part of the Széchenyi Plan Plus programme, is expected to be completed next summer.

Construction of around 60 kilometres of road network continues

In recent years, nearly sixty kilometres of cycle paths have been built in the Oroszlány, Tata and Tatabánya areas, and the industrial park's factories in Tatabánya have also been connected to the network. In Tata, the FTK-Építő previously participated in the work.

From the county seat, you can cycle to Oroszlány, the Mayk monuments of the Kamaldul hermitage and the mining museum. And from Tatabánya via Tata to Dunaalmás, which is connected to the EuroVelo 6 international network.
