A road was opened in Újszilvás by HE-DO.

A former dirt road received new asphalt pavement in the implementation of HE-DO in Újszilvás. The investment was necessary to provide access to 41 building plots in a new, high-end residential area being built on the street, according to a statement from the Hungarian-owned company.

The project, which was commissioned by the municipality of the village on the border of Pest and Szolnok counties and implemented with the support of the EU TOP PLUSZ programme, was followed by the excavation and construction of the drainage ditches, and included the installation of a double-sided sunken kerb, a bedding layer, a concrete base and asphalt paving. The project also included the installation of a solar speedometer, a traffic calming threshold and a 12-space bicycle storage area.

"The use of solar tachometers, a special feature of the project, is less common in daily practice. From a construction point of view, it represents a significant saving as it does not require the installation of a power cable connection, and from an operational point of view, it is an economical solution as the batteries are charged by solar energy."

- said Zoltán Vidó, chief architect of HE-DO.

Works started in early July 2024 and the technical handover took place on 10 September.
