Motorway also under construction on the eastern side of the Mohács bridge

The Official Gazette 59. issue of the Official Gazette on 30 December last year, the Minister of Construction and Transport issued instructions regarding developments affecting the town of Mohács. In order to ensure the successful implementation of the Bácska project, János Lázár assigned a number of tasks.

Transdanubia and the Great Plain will also get four lanes

The list includes, among other things, the implementation of the Mohács Danube Bridge and the related road network development.

At the same time, on the lowland side, the decree envisages the construction of a 2×2 lane road, so the new 20 km long road starting from the main road 51 near Csátalja will be built as a four-lane road up to Újmohács.

The list in the Official Journal also included the following tasks:

• the launch of a conditional public procurement procedure for the design of the development of the Pécs-Szigetvár section of the M60 motorway;
• the feasibility study for the continuation of the Mohács bridge and road link from Csátalja to Bácsbokod on the section between main roads 51 and 55;
• the construction of a four-lane section on the eastern side of the Mohács Danube Bridge, the construction of the Homorúdi access junction, and the construction of a rest area in the Sárhát-Újmohács area in consultation with the Mohács City Municipality;
• Feasibility Study for a possible Mohács-Bátaszék railway line
