Four- and five-digit roads in Somogy County upgraded

Information was provided on several road renovations that are currently underway or will begin soon by the state Magyar Közút Nzrt. and sonline.hu in the middle of the month. The newspaper summary highlights three projects. The first of these is the longest road renovation in the county, on the road connecting Juta and Pusztakovácsi: according to the plans, the road surface will be resurfaced with asphalt over a length of almost 7,700 metres. As we previously written about this before, and as shown by EU public procurement data also show that this development is being carried out by Soltút Kft..

The next section of road mentioned is the more than five kilometres of track between Szigetvár and Kadarkút, which is also being modernised by the Soltvadkert-based company, and the Silvásszentmárton access road will also be renewed: exactly 4,000 metres of work is planned, also by Soltút Kft..

The communication department of Magyar Közút explained,

The renovations will start this spring under the Hungarian Village Road Renovation Programme, with domestic funding. As part of the works, the old pavement will be scraped and two new layers will be laid, the road surface will be restored and the necessary ditch cleaning will be carried out in places. The EU TOP Plusz programme will also reinforce the pavement and upgrade the drainage system and bridges on the sections.
