The construction of the Aquincum–Békásmegyer cycle route may be carried out by JÓ-ÉP.

Óbuda-Békásmegyer Önkormányzata is developing the north–south cycle route between Aquincum and Békásmegyer with an investment of 139 million forints investment to develop the north–south cycle route between Aquincum and. The contract for the development was awarded to JÓ-ÉP Építőipari Szolgáltató Kft..

The section to be constructed now is approximately 2.5–2.7 kilometres long, whilst the entire planned cycle route is nearly 4 kilometres long.

During the current phase, a new cycle route will be established between Hollós Korvin Lajos Street and the housing estate, involving the removal of 51 metres of fencing and the installation of 223 m² of geotextile. The junction of Ürömi út, Valéria Street and Ráby Mátyás Street will be converted to a traffic-light-controlled junction, where 125 m³ of earth will be excavated, 127 m³ of road surfacing will be removed and 37 m³ of new asphalt will be laid.

The route runs along Valéria Street – Körös Street – Rozália Street – Aranyalma Street – Zsófia Street before reaching Szentendrei Road. At the junctions with Körös, Botond and Temes Streets, kerb adjustments, raised traffic islands and localised resurfacing are being carried out. On Zsófia Street, between Ádámföldi Road and Szentendrei Road, the entire surface will be milled and resurfaced whilst retaining the existing kerbs.

During the engineering works, a total of approximately 155 cubic metres of asphalt will be laid, more than 300 metres of new kerbs will be constructed, and modern, durable thermoplastic road markings will be applied. To ensure the safety of pedestrians and facilitate accessible access, tactile paving, safety barriers and speed bumps will also be installed. The project also involves greening and modernisation: the street lighting will be upgraded, and 8 trees and 715 shrubs will be planted.
