A spectacular moment at the junction of the M44 and the M5
The investor Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium posted a photo report on its social media page about the new junction being built on the M5 motorway in the Kecskemét area. As we reported earlier, the largest rural junction in Hungary is being built at the intersection of the M5 motorway, the M44 expressway and main road 5, under the general construction contract Hódút Építő Kft..
According to ÉKM, seven new structures will be built and one existing structure will be demolished. One of the most spectacular features of the project is the installation of the beams of the B.736 bridge, which will provide a link over the M5 motorway, as shown in the pictures published in the post.
"Construction started in the summer of 2024 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, significantly improving east-west road links and enhancing the economic potential of the region," ÉKM concludes.
