MKIF: Lane clear on the M7 at Martonvásár

On Tuesday morning, traffic resumed on the section of the M7 motorway between Martonvásár and Váli-völgy (28-35 km), and the MKIF Magyar Koncessziós Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt. also removed the diversion on the M7 in the Martonvásár area.

As mentioned in their Facebook post emphasise,

Despite the changeable weather conditions, the renovation works were completed 4 days earlier than planned, so the M7 can be used without restrictions between the M0 and Balatonvilágos in both directions.

The works have resulted in the renewal of the pavement in two layers, as both the bonding and wearing course have been replaced over a total of 50,000 square metres. During the renovation, 820 tonnes of hard asphalt were recycled.

They add that, in agreement with the Hungarian state, which granted the concession, the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium permit will suspend the planned renovations on the M7 motorway between M0 and Balatonvilágos until 31 August, also in the direction of Lake Balaton and the capital.

Finally, they stress that the M7 motorway is heavily congested in the summer, especially during the weekend peak periods. On holiday weekends, such as the recent weekend of Pentecost, traffic doubles compared to an average spring/summer weekend, sometimes tripling on certain stretches.
