The first concrete elements are already in place on the M7 at Siófok

New concrete elements have already been installed on a section of the M7 motorway near Siófok – announced on its social media page Magyar Koncessziós Infrastruktúra Fejlesztő Zrt.

Operating time reduced by a fifth

As reported in our newspaper's article in May May article, the MKIF is replacing the guardrail with concrete elements on the M7 motorway to improve traffic safety. The project has numerous benefits, including:

• the operating time is reduced by a fifth, as the maintenance company's staff spend less time in the inner lane caring for the plants;
• the concrete elements further reduce the chance of the vehicle being on the other side in an accident;
• a single concrete element can withstand multiple impacts without major damage, but also requires less frequent repair or replacement, resulting in fewer road closures.

The post also pointed out that the pitch will not be left without vegetation: there will be trees, bushes and shrubs closer to the fence.

One lane of traffic on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during the works 

The schedule of the works, which will be adapted to the summer traffic, was specifically mentioned: only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays will the works be carried out between 6 am and 2 pm. During the work period, traffic will be allowed to use the emergency lane and, outside the emergency lane, 2 lanes in each direction (outside and emergency lane). The work area will be provided with mobile buffering and collision avoidance.
