Development of the southern bypass road in Zalaegerszeg is complete
Sugár Street and Hegyi Road, the southern connecting road of Zalaegerszeg, have been renovated. The southern connecting section, which is more than 2 kilometres long, connects Alsóerdő with the Zalabesenyő district. The investment was financed by the Kovács Károly Urban Development Programme, as recently reported on the city's website.
According to the public procurement notice published at announcement published in the public procurement notice, the implementation of the investment was entrusted to Horváth-Ép Közmű- Út- és Mélyépítő Kft. was commissioned to carry out the investment, as we previously reported.
The work also affected the side streets of Zalabesenyő.
In recent years, traffic has increased significantly in this hilly region, and several sections of the road have become particularly accident-prone. Modernisation was therefore urgently needed.
On the renovated connecting road, drivers can travel at 40 km/h in the populated area and 60 km/h in the outskirts. The investment also affected several side streets in Zalabesenyő, and the contractor also carried out public utility reconstruction at several locations.
In addition, new pavements were built as part of the project, and old pavements were resurfaced in several places. A traffic-calming island with paving stone cladding was also created in the Besenyő district.
