Nemeskér is catching up with the regional municipalities by developing wastewater
Nemeskér in Győr-Moson-Sopron County is undergoing significant development. The small village, which belongs to the neighbouring Lövő district and has a population of just over two hundred, has been working on the construction of a sewerage system for almost a year, carried out by SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft has been working on the construction of the sewerage system in the small village of Nemeskér in the county of Győr-Moson-Sopron. One of the smallest villages in the county, but rich in historical monuments and memorials, it deserves to have its environment improved and to catch up with the other settlements in the region. In this investment, the collected sewage will be directed to the sewage treatment plant in Lővé, which has sufficient free capacity to handle the additional load from this settlement.
The following improvements will be carried out in the project:
- Construction of 1 657 fm DN 200 PP gravity sewer,
- Construction of 1 338 fm DN 90 KPE pressure pipeline,
- Construction of 108 DN 150 PP house connections,
- Construction of 2 public sewage interceptors.
The details of the project were provided by Tibor Ladányi, project manager.
SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft. was also responsible for the preparation of the construction plans and the obtaining of the water rights permit. Once this was done, the actual works on the site could start in October 2022.
As a first step, an instrumental fire survey and documentation of the entire work area was carried out, together with a preliminary archaeological investigation.
The sewage interceptors and the backbone have already been built
"The construction started with the exploration of the existing utilities, and the exact route of the pipeline was determined on the basis of this information. After cutting and breaking up the asphalt pavement, the construction of the backbone pipeline started, which meant digging the working trenches, ditching, making the bedding, constructing DN 200 PP sewer pipes, DN 200/150 PP branch pipes, D 100 reinforced concrete cleaning shafts, backfilling and layer compaction of the track" - said Tibor Ladányi.
The backbone was then used to install the connection pipes and plastic cleaning nodes for the properties. The pipeline was built in parallel with the construction:
- 2 sewage interceptor structures with a diameter of 2 m,
- 2 fitting wells,
- and the related electrical and control engineering works have been completed.
Gravity lines are checked by a sewer camera inspection after the network has been cleaned. The construction of the network will be completed with the construction of the D 90 KPE pressure pipeline, its connection to the sewage treatment plant in Lövő and the pressure test of the pipeline.
The continuous rehabilitation of the trail has been done with crushed stone, and once the entire network has been completed and graded, the final pavement rehabilitation will be done with asphalt and concrete.
More than five metres deep excavation
Our photographer captured the spectacular work in early October. The challenge of the project is the Sc-4-0 pipeline section, the deepest part of the network, which the technicians had to dig down to a depth of 5.3 metres.
"The task is made more difficult by the fact that it is not only the deepest section, but also the narrowest street, with double-sided pylons, crossing overhead wires and a very vulnerable eternite aqueduct. Replacement of the water main is unavoidable due to the narrow street cross-section. The ditch is supported by a system of embankments, which means that the excavator can only be used with great care at great depths. A further problem is the sand that can seep in at the bottom of the excavation pit", the project manager explained.
Due to the limited space, it is also not possible to dispose of the excavated material on site, which has to be transported to a depot on a continuous basis. For the reasons mentioned above, the construction of this section is progressing very slowly.
The current state of completion of the project in each work phase:
- gravity network construction: 89 %,
- pipeline construction: 78 %.
- transfer stations: 97 %.
In addition to the completion of the above works, the project will also include the construction and pressure testing of the sewage pipeline, asphalting and concreting of the roads, and restoration of the trail to its original condition. The works are expected to be completed in spring 2024.
