Sofitel Hotel is the only Hungarian project in the running for the Dalux Award 2026 award – Watch the video too!
The SWIETELSKY Magyarország Kft. project is breathing new life into the iconic hotel on the banks of the Danube, the Sofitel Hotel. There are many reasons to love this building, but what perhaps makes it a truly outstanding project for the construction and design team is that they have succeeded in preserving the distinctive basic layout of the approximately 40-year-old building: its sculptural massing, its system of proportions, and its unique atrium-style interior space.
What’s more, they have enabled the building to be more closely linked to the vibrant city centre and the Danube promenade.

The refurbished luxury hotel is now a worthy contender for the Dalux Award 2026 award. Twenty-five establishments are competing in this prestigious international field, including the refurbished Sofitel Hotel, the only Hungarian project in the running.
The award focuses on construction projects that make outstanding use of the Dalux solutions in the areas of BIM, fieldwork and digital data management.
A video of the Sofitel Hotel can be viewed at Dalux’s website, which was created with the involvement of staff from Magyar Építők.
The Dalux Award 2026 award will be presented to the project that receives the most votes. The award will be presented on 3 November 2026 at the high-profile Dalux Summit event in Copenhagen.
