HE-DO is working on the project (and KM Építő is also involved as a subcontractor) to repair the copper slip on a link road on the Hungarian-Slovakian border.

At the end of last year, heavy rainfall caused half of the road connecting Salgótarján and Zabar to collapse in the Cered area due to a landslide. making it necessary to restrict traffic to the remaining half of the road, according to a statement by HE-DO, the company responsible for repairing the road.

During the current renovation, the landslide-damaged earthworks and track structure will be completely demolished and rebuilt. A GABION retaining wall system will also be constructed on the valley side, and the drainage of the road and its surroundings will be modernised. The project is being implemented under order Magyar Közút Nzrt. and is financed from domestic sources.

The new track structure has already been built

The traffic diversion, the demolition of the track and earthworks, the construction of the GABION stone retaining wall, the layering of the embankment and the construction of the track structure have already been completed. Currently, the hydraulic engineering works are underway, and the traffic engineering works and construction of the retention systems, as well as the landscaping and environmental grading, are next in the sequence of works.

As a subcontractor, the construction of the restraint systems will be carried out by KM Építő Kft., expected in mid-October.

The construction of this short section is only possible with the complete closure of the section concerned and the diversion of traffic for 2 months, due to the technical content and mountainous terrain. The necessary technical and social consultations with the public and the main organisations concerned were launched at the beginning of August," the communication stresses.

Rehabilitation work started at the end of August this year and the technical handover is scheduled for this autumn.
