The OPUS ENERGETIKA central gas distribution depot in Gödöllő, which belongs to Mészáros Csoport, supports the energy supply of the eastern Hungarian region.

The latest, nationally unique gas network storage facility of OPUS ENERGETIKA Csoport was officially handed over in Gödöllő. According to a press release sent to our newspaper, the 2,700 square metre central distribution base, which was built on a greenfield site, has become the most modern service unit of OPUS TIGÁZ – and thus of the entire OPUS ENERGETIKA Csoport – has become the most modern service unit, which is a milestone in terms of logistics, supply security and technology in the eastern Hungarian region.

Two years of development completed

At the ceremonial handover, Balázs Hankó, Minister for Culture and Innovation, said: „This investment symbolises that Hungary's regions are receiving state-of-the-art technologies, energy efficiency, stable jobs and development opportunities, while the quality of life of local communities, the safety of families and responsibility for the future are truly in focus. OPUS ENERGETIKA is not only a service provider but also a social driver of development in the region.”

The development in Gödöllő was completed in just under two years at this strategically important site.

The hall has a net storage area of 2,200 square metres, modern social and office blocks, and the site has been given new asphalt surfacing and a modernised rainwater drainage network. Environmentally conscious and energy-efficient solutions will not only streamline network operation, but also logistics support, contractor services and the large-scale gas meter and pressure regulator replacement programme expected in the coming years.

In her opening speech, Tünde Konczné Kondás, CEO of OPTESZ OPUS Zrt., pointed out that the development in Gödöllő is not just a building, but the foundation for the strengthening of an entire community: „The developments of OPUS ENERGETIKA Csoport create strategic value not only from a technological perspective, but also from a human perspective. Gödöllő is a regional base for colleagues, partners, customers – for all those who value a stable, inspiring environment, quality care and long-term professional development. The investment serves both the needs of today and the opportunities of tomorrow.”

Part of a major development package

In addition to its central role, the warehouse supports the work of OPUS ENERGETIKA Csoport 2332 employees, including 133 colleagues in Gödöllő, and the group's business partners. The strategic focus of the group of companies is to create jobs and development opportunities for young people and employees in the region, thereby providing a stable vision for the future and contributing to increasing the cohesion of the community.

The construction of the warehouse in Gödöllő is in line with the wave of development that has taken place over the past three years at OPUS ENERGETIKA Csoport, during which more than HUF 5 billion worth of network, building energy and IT developments have been implemented in their supply area. The site's investment plans for the coming years, amounting to approximately HUF 1.2 billion per annum, are also aimed at digitalisation, energy efficiency and cost efficiency.

Continuing the developments to date, comprehensive, synergistic strategic programmes are planned for the coming years, as the goal is continuous expansion, modernisation and, along with these, the further deepening of workplace development programmes.

The new warehouse centre in Gödöllő will also contribute to the achievement of the above objectives, further strengthening the competitiveness of the Hungarian energy sector and the security of supply in the region. According to OPUS ENERGETIKA, the handover of the Gödöllő warehouse clearly demonstrates that sustainable development, national security of supply and the development of local communities are all objectives of the group. The new facility symbolises that the future of Hungary can only be built on cooperation, responsible thinking and well-planned strategic investments.
