Good news for the sector - 24 road projects launched

It has been decided that preparations will begin for 24 large-scale national road construction projects. According to a government decision published on the evening of 31 July published in Magyar Közlöny, Minister of Construction and Transport János Lázár was tasked with initiating the public procurement procedures necessary to begin or continue the preparation of a number of particularly important projects. The process will begin immediately.

To this end, the budget allocates HUF 47.5 billion according to the following schedule

• 12.5 billion in 2024,
• 19.3 billion in 2025
• 9.9 billion in 2026
• In 2027, HUF 5.8 billion is earmarked for these tasks.

As stated in the government's decision: road development projects are of priority social, political and economic development importance.

The following investments will be made:

• Baja, preparation of the southern bypass
• Preparation of a new border crossing point for freight traffic and a new motorway section at Tompa in connection with the southern link of the M9 motorway
• Preparation of the 2×2 lane upgrading of the southern bypass - border section of the main road No. 51 between Baja
• Preparation of the M9 motorway between highways 51 and 53 with a link to Tompa Preparation of the M9 motorway to Tompa
• Preparation of the development of a 2×2 lane road link between Berettyóújfalu-Békéscsaba
• Preparation for the development of the eastern bypass of Pápa Airport access road between the roundabout junction and road No 832
• Preparation of the section of the M4 motorway in the Karcag area and the new bypass road around the town of Karcag
• Szolnok new relief road preparation with Szandaszőlős bypass
• Preparing the approach to the south-eastern industrial area of Kaposvár
• Preparation of the connection of highways 8 and 82 in the Gyulafirátót area
• Preparation of the upgrading of the main road 32 between the M3 motorway and Jászberény
• Preparation of the widening of the main road No. 47 to 2×2 lanes with a bicycle overpass
• Preparation of the development of the section of the main road 31 between Budapest and Nagykáta
• Preparation of the M44 expressway (Békéscsaba) - border (Nagyszalonta) section
• Preparation of the north-eastern bypass of Szombathely and the M87 expressway, with a link back to the 87 main road
• M86 Körmend-Szombathely-Zanat section preparation
• Preparation of the development of the road network between Bük and the M87 motorway
• Békéscsaba, southern bypass road - 2×2 lane upgradable to a 2×2 high-speed road - preparation
• Preparing the development of the East-West Pécs gateway road
