MAÚT celebrated thirty years of achievements at an anniversary meeting

A meeting for its founders was organised at the Makadám Engineers Club in the capital by MAÚT Magyar Út- és Vasútügyi Társaság, which was founded in 1994 as the Hungarian Road Society.

The event was opened by Thoroczkay Zsolt, Head of the Road Infrastructure Department of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium, and then Balázs Suhajda, Director General of Track and Engineering Facilities of MÁV and Vice President of Railways of MAÚT welcomed the participants, the information sent to our newspaper said.

The first decades

Afterwards, Sándor Tombor, the organisation's first president for 22 years and still its perpetual president, stressed that "the founding of MAÚT was a very thoughtful act". He spoke of significant milestones such as the renewal of the regulatory regime, the establishment and maintenance of strong professional links abroad, and the e-UT electronic system for road regulations introduced in 2009.

Following this, in 2014, railway regulation was also introduced into the organisation, and the original Hungarian Road Society was transformed into MAÚT Magyar Út- és Vasútügyi Társaságg, and in 2017 the e-VASUT railway specification repository became operational, he said.

Work continues
