Market results up significantly on stable sales

Hungary's leading high-rise construction company has been holding its position in the field for more than a decade and a half. 80 percent of its revenue comes from the competitive sector.

For the third consecutive year, Market Építő Zrt. has closed the year with revenues exceeding HUF 300 billion for the third consecutive year, while also increasing its profitability, according to the company's 2024 financial report, published today and certified by an independent auditor.

The success of the market-leading building construction company is based on a year-on-year commitment to efficiency, innovation, data-driven management and sustainability, which has enabled the company to meet many of its five-year environmental strategic goals ahead of schedule, according to a statement from the company.The company added that the stable market position of Market is demonstrated by the fact that the vast majority of its revenues continue to come from competitive orders.

 

Outstanding performance in a challenging period

In 2024, the Group's core company Market Építő Zrt. achieved net sales of HUF 307 billion 407 million and a profit after tax of HUF 30 billion 513 million, confirming its leading position in the building construction market for more than a decade and a half. The group consolidated turnover of the construction business is even higher at nearly 101TTP3275T.

They stressed that the company has achieved this performance in a challenging economic environment, demonstrating the stability and adaptability of its operations. The increase in profitability is mainly due to the conscious optimisation of internal processes year on year, strict cost management, the expansion of data-driven operations and the application of the LEAN approach.

 

Nearly 80 percent of revenue comes from the competitive sector

Market Építő Zrt. has been a general contractor in the Hungarian building construction market for almost 30 years. The focus of its activities has traditionally been on the free market, as confirmed by the 2024 figures: the majority of the company's turnover, nearly 80%, comes from the competitive sector. The group's portfolio continues to be dominated by industrial and logistics investments, complemented by major office, residential and hotel projects, as well as sports and other public facility developments, they said.

 

ESG, BIM and innovation department to support operations

They also stated that the Market remains committed to continuous improvement and innovation. The company is the first in the industry to publish a sustainability report and the third in 2024. Dedicated environmental and ESG technical teams, BIM management, as well as a BI data analytics team and an innovation department, will help to drive more sustainable operations. As a tangible result, the company's ecological footprint has been significantly reduced compared to 2019.

From vocational training to monument renovation

Finally, they also mentioned that Market actively participates in professional training through its own Management Academy, Tudásépítő Team and its Career Builder internship programme. Its social responsibility activities are also partly related to architecture: the Market ROM Vándor programme is working to preserve historic church ruins from the Árpád era. The success of this initiative is demonstrated by the fact that in 2025 it won the prestigious ICOMOS award for the second time in 2025, this year for the restoration of the Varjaskéri church ruins.
