The members of the new ÉVOSZ group, led by Gábor Grabarics, agree that coordinated use of spare capacity and cooperation will be the key to the next period.

A new chapter has been added to the Építési Vállalkozók Országos Szakszövetsége: the Reinforced Concrete Element Manufacturing Chapter, established on 29 May, aims to promote domestic manufacturing, cooperation and professional quality, according to a ÉVOSZ press release.

A specific area within the industry in several respects

They recall that in recent years, a significant domestic concrete element production capacity has been created, which is facing serious capacity utilisation problems in the current market situation.

In the current market challenges, domestic reinforced concrete element manufacturers have joined forces to represent their professional interests in a united and effective way. The result of this is the creation of a new chapter, headed by Imre Gábor Grabarics Gábor, Managing Director of Grabarics Construction Kft., who was elected as its President. He was given a mandate to prepare the professional work plan.

The Communication points out that reinforced concrete element manufacturers operate differently from other players in the construction industry in a number of ways: they face specific production structures, logistical challenges, cyclical order fluctuations and strong price competition. It will be the task of this section to provide meaningful responses to these challenges.

Coordinated product development and patriotic investment policy

As a starting point, a comprehensive situation assessment has been set up: the questionnaire, coordinated by ÉVOSZ, will also look at professional expectations and possible forms of cooperation.

The members of the panel agreed that offering and making coordinated use of the spare capacities in the sector, as well as product specialisation between companies and a cooperative approach, could be the key to the next period. Participants stressed the need to introduce new types of prefabricated structures, to coordinate product development and to give priority to domestic manufacturers in public and private investment.

New trademark to promote domestic products

The Section considers it a priority to participate in the opinion on construction legislation and public procurement criteria, in particular the implementing regulations for public works. To this end, they aim to use the professional authority of ÉVOSZ to provide direct feedback to decision-makers.

The "Premium Magyar Építőmaterial" trademark, prepared by ÉVOSZ, could also help to stabilise the market situation, and the chapter's early accession to this trademark is also on the agenda. The aim is that the trademark should give an advantage to domestically produced, controlled quality products in public procurement and in commercial networks.
