Suzuki is not left out of the major Hungarian automotive investments

In Esztergom, nearly HUF 10 billion is being invested in development.

Suzuki is making another investment of 9.3 billion forints in Hungary, which will enable the Japanese company to expand its production capacity and take a major step towards making its Esztergom plant carbon neutral. rel="noopener">Esztergom plant. This was announced by Péter Szijjártó, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, in Tokyo.

As it turns out,

A new development agreement with the automotive company has been agreed, which will help the Hungarian economy to develop in an environmentally friendly way, while reducing emissions.

Digitalisation and sustainability

Suzuki is expanding its capacity, making very significant technological improvements in the areas of digitalisation and automation. At the same time, another big step is being taken towards making the factory carbon neutral.    

The investment will

  • expanding the capacity of the bumper, painting and welding plants,
  • high-tech machines are purchased,
  • and a solar power plant.

To this end, the state will provide HUF 1.9 billion in subsidies, helping the company to increase its workforce in Hungary to 3,000 employees. Suzuki, traditionally the market leader in Hungary, with a share of around 12.5 percent last year, has its Esztergom production base the third largest in the company.
