Before the construction of the two-storey wing, the institution had an eclectic environment, with different architectural influences from different periods.

On 21 August, the new wing of the Gulner Gyula Primary School, maintained by the Outer Pest School District Centre, was inaugurated in Budapest. According to the public procurement data, the investment was carried out by TÉR-Generál Kft. for Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium.

The government supported the investment in the XVIIIth district, implemented in the second phase of the national public education infrastructure development programme, with HUF 930.378 million. Of this, some HUF 880 million was spent on construction and HUF 50 million on the purchase of furniture and kitchen equipment.

Buildings connected by a gateway

At the event, Zoltán Nyul, Deputy State Secretary for Building Construction of Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium (ÉKM), pointed out that before the construction of the new two-storey wing, the school had an eclectic environment, with the imprint of different architectural periods and a legitimate need for modernisation.

He said that the new wing of the school has added 5 new classrooms, a canteen, a kitchen and a barrier-free building. The investment has brought the two parts of the building to a higher standard, connected by a passageway.

He added that the investment in the Gyula Gulner Primary School represents a major step forward in the district's educational activities, the benefits of which can be seen today, and will serve to build the future generation.

The law on Hungarian architecture will soon be submitted to Parliament

At the handover ceremony, the Deputy State Secretary also said that it is important for the Ministry to place Hungarian architecture on a foundation that will ensure that all local and national institutions are implemented at a uniform and expected level. This is the aim of the Hungarian Architecture Act, which will soon be submitted to Parliament under the Ministry's care.

He noted that an important condition for investments is functional, economical, long-term operation, in order to achieve the most efficient use of available resources. This is to be achieved through the Public Investment Act, which they hope will enter into force soon, Zoltán Nyul said.
