Miskolc's ancient park has been spectacularly renewed

The Miskolctapolca Primeval Park has been renovated at a cost of nearly 960 million forints, according to information released by the Miskolc municipal government on Thursday. According to public procurement data, the work was carried out by FEDRID Építőipari Kft..

According to the announcement, the park, footpaths, utilities and street lighting in the vicinity of the Cave Baths have been renewed, and around 30,000 plants have been planted in the area. In addition, miniature bronze statues and wooden play statues have been installed.

Three bridges have been renovated, the lake has been desilted

During the project, the park's bridges were renovated, preserving the squirrel statues, and three smaller and three larger pavilions were built to serve as a sales and service area, they said.

The boating lake has been cleared of almost 2,500 cubic metres of silt, with two new boats and three new water bikes. It was necessary to remove the silt from the lake because the silt layer was up to 80-100 centimetres thick in places.

The area had not seen major development for decades until last year, when complex reconstruction work began. Although the works have now been completed, there was already a lot of interest in the reconstructed area in its "semi-finished" state, they added.
