Veszprém's new employment and arts development centre inaugurated

Another successful development in Veszprém: the Deák Ferenc Street Occupational and Artistic Development Centre was inaugurated on 22 September at a ceremony.

As we recently reported, the construction works were completed at the beginning of September, and the reconstruction of the gymnasium and its surroundings of the former Piarist high school was commissioned by the Municipality of Veszprém County Municipality to VEMÉV-SZER Kft. and the consortium of LATEREX Construction Zrt..

As a result of the developments that started in July 2022, Veszprém's cultural tourism offer has been enriched with a building complex that houses a café, a puppet theatre, an exhibition space and a children's activity centre.

At the opening ceremony of the event centre, Bence Rétvári, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior, said that the realisation of event spaces like the one in Veszprém is of great importance, since, as he said, childhood theatre experiences fundamentally determine one's later relationship with culture. He said that culture strengthens identity and creates community. Thus, national culture strengthens national community, he underlined.
