Béres's Szolnok plant expanded with a high-bay warehouse, R&D laboratory and office building

The new Béres Gyógyszergyár Zrt. plant unit was inaugurated in Szolnok on 10 November. The HUF 8.3 billion investment

• a modern 680 square metre research and development laboratory;
• an automated high-bay warehouse with a storage capacity of 6,000 pallets and an area of 4,120 square metres;
• a 343 square metre waste and hazardous waste storage building;
• and an office and social facility of 1100 square metres.

Speaking at the ceremony, Finance Minister Mihály Varga said that Béres is currently Hungary's largest family-owned pharmaceutical company, with around 150 products on the domestic and international markets. The company has invested a total of HUF 25 billion, and with the current development it will increase its workforce to 560 and further increase its export performance.

József Béres, President of Béres Pharmaceuticals, thanked the Hungarian government for supporting their investments. As he said, the investment included the purchase of quality control laboratory, research and development and warehouse technology equipment, as well as production machinery. He also informed that with the investment Béres has created 24 new jobs, bringing the total number of employees in Szolnok to 410.
