Machine simulator will support STRABAG training

The STRABAG Education Centre in Székesfehérvár is scheduled to open its doors in January 2025. The Training Centre will primarily focus on the development of STRABAG employees and machine operators active in the fields of road construction, structural engineering and engineering facilities (such as special civil engineering).

STRABAG is setting up its new Training Centre and office building in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, for its employees active in Hungary. The foundation stone of the building was laid in a ceremony, so that training courses can start soon. The aim of the centre is to improve the technical knowledge of the company's employees, to enhance their understanding of the company culture and to promote more efficient working practices.

Training at the cutting edge

A ground floor building of more than 558 m² will be built, which will house the Education Centre and an office area for nearly 30 people. The building will be accessible, with bicycle storage and an electric charging station, and will be powered by solar panels and a heat pump.

A real speciality will be the simulator room, where participants will be able to practice the operation and control of front-end loader and excavator machines under realistic conditions.

The "teaching staff" consists of the company's own highly skilled colleagues, who provide participants with theoretical and practical training not only in operational and technical work, but also in health and safety, environmental protection and sustainable, energy-efficient operation.

Simulators for the environment

Easy understanding and recording of the learning material will be strongly supported by classroom equipment and the use of modern audiovisual tools. And for practical training, work machines and small machines will be put at the service of the training. Even more interesting, however, will be the use of simulators to support the development of heavy machinery operators and the effective performance of practical tasks, allowing them to simulate extreme working conditions such as fog, heavy rain, darkness at night or poor terrain without using fuel or polluting the environment.

Imre Etl Imre, CEO of STRABAG Hungary, emphasized in his speech that STRABAG has decided to establish its first educational centre in Hungary, which will be built in Székesfehérvár, because this municipality is very important for them.

"Technological progress requires the education of their colleagues. And in Székesfehérvár we have been present in almost all areas of the construction industry for decades. Our Training Centre to be built here will strengthen our market leadership," he added.

The priority is to develop their own adult, physical staff, to whom they want to transfer new knowledge and develop their skills in order to better represent the company's objectives. Training will be provided in road construction, structural engineering and specialised civil engineering, which will be taught by colleagues with a wealth of professional experience.

"It is very important," he noted, "to pass on to posterity a secure, sustainable economy and society, to which the new Education Centre will contribute. Today is significant for us because we have brought the goal of having colleagues with the highest possible level of knowledge much closer to reality today."

László Horváth, Investment Director of STRABAG, added:

"After a long period of careful planning and approval procedures, construction can finally begin. I am confident that by the end of this year the building will be ready for occupation."

By the beginning of next year, the office and training centre will be operational, with near-zero energy spaces for staff and students, in line with the latest energy standards. As underlined:
