Trend Construction and ELTE have already signed the contract for the development of the Chemistry Department building.

Significant higher education development is set to begin in the capital according to plans: the partial energy modernisation of the building of the Department of Chemistry (KTCS) at Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) Lágymányos Campus North Block Chemistry Department (KTCS) building, as detailed in the procedure for the partial energy modernisation of the Lágymányos Campus North Block Chemistry Department Group (KTCS) building. The university has already signed with Trend Építő Zrt., according to data from the Electronic Public Procurement System.

The investment is being implemented under the Infrastructure and Skills Development for Practice-Oriented Higher Education project of the EU's Recovery and Resilience Instrument (RRF) programme, which aims to use EU funds to modernise the university's Lágymányos and downtown campuses, other sites in Budapest and the Savaria University Centre in Szombathely.

The current development, as reported on TED, concerns the KTCS (Chemistry Department Group) building on the Lágymányos Campus North Block: the heating system of the block will be completely replaced and upgraded to meet the new needs. Trend Construction is installing new cooling and heating fan-coil equipment which, thanks to its technological solution, can both cool and heat the rooms.

Superlab will be handed over

The modernisation will include the installation of new outdoor refrigerators on the roof of the building. In addition, a new 56-seat super-lab will be built on the 6th floor of the building in the Institute of Chemistry, where students will receive practical training.

At the request of the university, the contractor must carry out the works in such a way as not to disrupt the operation of the educational institution.
