Seven municipalities in a picturesque landscape start to develop their cycle paths

The investment, the announcement of which was published in the EU public procurement bulletin a few days ago, will improve cycling conditions in the towns of Letenye, Becsehely, Tornyiszentmiklós, Dobri, Kerkaszentmihály, Muraszemenye and Murarátka.

Contractors will also build bridges

The call for tenders also allows contractors to submit partial tenders for certain sections. Among the municipalities concerned by the development, 2.5 kilometres of cycle paths and a bridge in Tornisentmiklós, which also has a border crossing, will be built by the successful tenderer. The contract notice also specifies the construction of a section of road for cyclists in the municipalities, totalling some 1109 metres.
Dobri, hidden in the Kerka valley, is looking for a contractor for a total of 700 metres of road, two bridges for cyclists and a 1,836-metre cycle path.

Two municipalities can improve their transport infrastructure with 10 kilometres of cycle paths

In Kerkaszentkirály, which is also located in an impressive natural environment, a total of 2,590 metres of cycle paths would be built on the national road and on a section of road managed by the local government.
In Muraszemenye, 7400 metres of a cyclists' transport corridor are planned.

The project includes the construction of new roads and the rehabilitation of existing ones

In Murarátka, along the Mura river, the contractor will be responsible for the construction of a 1,870-metre long cycle path on the national road 7538.

In Letenye, on the Croatian-Hungarian border, in addition to the construction of new sections, the winning bidder will also have to carry out renovation work, creating safe cycling conditions on nearly 5,820 metres of road. In Becsehely, the cycle path along the main road 7 needs to be reconstructed, for a length of almost 1361 metres.
Contractors have until 17 April to submit their applications for one or all of the projects, i.e. all seven municipalities.
