Hungary's newest hospital building opened

In March 2022, the Fejér County St. George University Teaching Hospital, built by the consortium of Fejér-B.Á.L. Zrt. and Épkar Zrt. consortium laid the foundation stone for the new 6,100-square-metre block of the Fejér County Szent György University Teaching Hospital, and we have been continuously followed the work closely.

Patient care can start

In winter, we reported that completed with state-of-the-art hospital rooms: the exterior work received its occupancy permit from the building authorities on 4 December 2024; and on 9 December 2024, the official technical handover of the project was completed by the client, the hospital and the contractor. Following this ceremonial handover, patient care can now begin in the completed building.

Contractors helped with the smallest details

The contractor F-E 2021 Consortium offered to help coordinate the supply of furniture, equipment and tools purchased by the hospital, and the furnishing of the new building was supported by those who knew the building inside out, which contributed greatly to the careful placement of the final elements.

A common holiday

The expansion of St. George's Hospital is a significant event for the entire region and especially for the county seat, as stated by FEOL report. Székesfehérvár also played a significant role in the construction of the new hospital building, as confirmed by Mayor András Cser-Palkovics, who pointed out that it is important to support this regionally significant institution even if the city is not the hospital's operator. Because

"it's good for the people of Fehérvár, for the people living in the municipalities of the county, but it's also good for the people living in the agglomerations".

Among many others, the city leader thanked the two former directors general of the hospital, István Csernavölgyi and László Bucsi, as well as the current hospital director, who together achieved the creation of the new block from planning to implementation and operation.

Zoltán Nyul, Deputy State Secretary for Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium's Building Construction, pointed out:

"The aim is to be able to continue to make investments of this quality in the coming period"

State Secretary for Health Péter Takács added: "Health is not a field where you can stop working once. There are always new challenges, it is our job to solve them."
