The largest capacity baking plant in Central and Eastern Europe is being built in Tata
According to István Mikos, the company's managing director, the first phase of the toast bread factory, equipped with state-of-the-art technology, will create 100 new jobs. The 14,000-square-metre factory hall will be built on a seven-hectare site purchased by the company with the support of its parent company, the Czech Agrofert Group.
Thanks to this development, by 2027, the largest capacity bakery in Central and Eastern Europe will be established, producing 100 tonnes of bread per day.
According to plans, the plant's products will be sold not only on the Hungarian market, but also in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and southern European countries.
The company also cooperates with vocational training institutions.
When planning the investment, the group examined several locations, including Győr, Bábolna and Mosonmagyaróvár. After comparing logistics, local conditions, prices, proximity to the capital and the motorway, they finally chose Tata, the director explained. István Mikos said that professional training is important to the company, which is why they donated a shock freezer to the Sándor Jávorka Agricultural and Food Industry Technical College in Tata and are exploring further opportunities for cooperation.
The company currently provides jobs for 200 people.
Ceres currently operates in Győr and Miskolc, primarily producing daily products, bread rolls, toast bread and cakes, as well as products suitable for health-conscious diets. The company is the legal successor to the Győr and Region Bakery Company, founded in 1953. Ceres Zrt. currently employs 200 people.
