The renovation of nearly three kilometres of Üllői út in the capital will be completed this year

The HE-DO csoport is carrying out a large-scale road construction project in the 18th district of the capital – work has been underway since April this year on a 2.8-kilometre section of one of the capital's busiest roads, Üllői út. The works, which we have previously reported on – was put out to tender by the district council and won by the group independently. The company recently published a statement on the progress of the work.

According to this, the kerbs between Béke Square and Szarvascsárda Square have already been replaced, and the work will soon be completed on the other side as well - Gellért Timár, the chief architect, is quoted as saying.

"During the next work phases, it will be necessary to unidirectionalise the road towards the city centre and close half of the lanes on alternate sides on Üllői út between Béke tér and Szarvascsárda tér. This will allow us to carry out the following phases of work: local road structure replacement, construction of reinforced road structures for bus stops, construction of binder and wearing course asphalt, construction of median islands and final traffic engineering"

- said the leading expert.

He added that the 200-metre stretch between Ráday Street and Progress Street will also be resurfaced. HE-DO csoport is on schedule to complete the project, which will last until 31 December 2023. The project will improve the condition and safety of Üllői út and contribute to the development of the district.
