From farmland to agglomeration - road construction to develop the outskirts of Nyíregyháza

Nyíregyháza has the second largest farmland in Hungary. The bocot farmstead settlement structure around Nyíregyháza is unique, having developed in the 18th century and differing significantly from the independent farmsteads of the lowlands. The settlement form, which is smaller than the village, was created by the lifestyle of the Tirpák population, who lived on the farm from spring to autumn and in the town in winter. At the turn of the century, the increasingly populated bococote farm area developed a network of settlements similar to that of the small villages, which can still be traced today.

After decades of depopulation, there are now several viable farms and businesses operating in the bush, but many people are moving out because of the natural environment. Those moving out of the city are also attracted by the cheap land prices, so the bush is slowly turning into a residential area. To reinforce this, a decision was made to pave two dirt roads between Nyírtelek and Nyírszőlős, which are now frequently used again. The tender was won by KE-VÍZ 21 Építőipari Zrt.. During the net investment of HUF 98 million, the winner will be responsible for developing Mátyásbokori Road in Nyíregyháza and Csernyikbokori Road, which branches off from it, in which:

• solid pavement and stormwater drainage, and
• the classification of the road section concerned.

Main quantities:

• the total length of the planned road is 840 metres,
• width 4 metres,

• construction of 895 metres of kerbs,
• construction of a leakage system is required for 229 metres.
• Quantity required for asphalting the main road: AC-16 (base-coat) 237 m³
