Three road improvements in the south-eastern part of the country have been inaugurated

Three road reconstruction projects in Békés county have been completed, Magyar Közút Nonprofit Zrt. said in a statement to MTI on Monday. More than HUF 1.2 billion was spent on the investments. The 2.9-kilometre section of the 4404 Szarvas-Orosháza link road was renewed for a gross amount of HUF 548 million; and the 1.3-kilometre section of the 4642 Gyomaendrőd-Nagyszénás-Szentes link road for a gross amount of HUF 288 million. Also completed was the reconstruction of a 1.5-kilometre section of the Furta-Gyula road 4219, for a gross cost of HUF 372 million.

During the renovation, the pavement was resurfaced, the entire track structure was replaced where necessary, followed by a levelling layer, then an asphalt wearing course and a new floor. The KRESZ signs were replaced and new permanent pavement signs were painted.

We recently reported on another similar project in the region: a 2.2-kilometre section of the 4252 Sarkad-country border connecting road was renovated under the Duna Aszfalt project. In Békés County, the company has carried out a total of 14 kilometres of renovations in six locations this year, using gross HUF 2.566 billion from the so-called rollback funds of the Territorial and Settlement Development Operational Programme (TOP).
