The town on the Budapest-Belgrade railway line gets a new bypass and railway bridge

Cívis Komplex Mérnök Kft. can prepare the construction of the northern bypass of Kiskunlacháza. According to the data published on TED, the design project, worth a net contract value of 305 million HUF, will require the successful bidder to further design the study plan and the selected track up to the detailed design level.

The announcement also describes the background to the investment, stressing that the Budapest-Belgrade railway line, which is currently undergoing major development, passes through the Pest county town on the Danube. It will cross the 5203 link road, which will take traffic from the Bugyi municipality and the gravel pits to the main road 51.

Three roundabouts and a bridge to be built

As rail freight volumes will increase significantly after the railway development, the capacity of the level crossing will not be sufficient. This is one of the problems addressed by the bypass under discussion:

To this end, the new route of road 5203 will be connected to main road 51 by a separate railway crossing, bypassing Kiskunlachaza from the north.

According to the public procurement contract, the bypass will be a dual carriageway road with an estimated length of 4.6 km in total. The study design requires the design of 3 roundabout junctions and a separate level crossing (flyover) on the chosen route.
