In half a year, the plans for the roundabout on Lajos Kassák Street could be ready

As we reported in the spring, the designer of one of Angyalföld's recently overloaded junctions was sought in a conditional public procurement procedure was launched to find a designer for one of Angyalföld's recently overloaded intersections. The subject of the design contract is the design of a roundabout at the intersection of Gidófalvy Lajos Street, Kassák Lajos Street and Apály Street, including the preparation of permit and implementation plans.

The area covered is 1 275 m² and the winning bidder IUtak Mérnökiroda Kft. will have 180 days to complete the design.

The tenderers expect to find solutions to a number of details in the implementation of the project, which will cost around HUF 16 million, including

• geodetic survey and base map, in addition to the
• a traffic survey of the area;
• preparing road and traffic permit and design documents;
• planning for the construction and relocation of street lighting and utilities will also be required.

In addition, IUtak Engineering will have to design and authorise the necessary utility replacements; prepare green space design and landscape architecture works, in addition to preparing temporary traffic engineering plans during construction.

An important element of the design is also to carry out road traffic counts and pedestrian counts (weekday morning and afternoon peak hours between 7-10am and 16-19pm), and a key consideration is to design the roundabout with the minimum possible number of parking spaces.
