Bicycle path to make traffic safer between Hajdúböszörmény and Hajdúdorog

The Local Government of Hajdúböszörmény has published a call for tenders in the EU Public Procurement Bulletin for the design of the Hajdúböszörmény-Hajdúdorog cycle path call for tenders for the design of the Hajdúböszörmény-Hajdúdorog cycle path.

Tasks related to the projects to be implemented under the TOP-PLUSZ programme for Phase I:

Preparation of the permit and design plans for a bicycle traffic facility to be built in the eastern part of the municipality, starting from the existing bicycle path in Kinizsi Pál Street, along the residential section of Ipartelepi Road and Outer-Hadházi Road (3507.j.) 2.070 m, together with the associated drainage and/or hydraulic engineering, transport and utility installations, the necessary authorisations and the technical documentation for the public procurement procedure.

Hajdúböszörmény already has a number of existing cycling facilities, typically in the southern part of the town. Phase I of the development will increase safe cycling on the heavily trafficked road 3507.j., which will provide cycling traffic for people living in the eastern part of the town, workers in industrial areas and residents in residential areas outside the town.

This procurement concerns Phase I, which does not have plans.

Preliminary studies have already been carried out for Phase II

Phase II of the development will provide a cycling route in the north-eastern part of the city, thus helping to access the Hajdúvid - Hajdúdorog and Keleti industrial areas from the city centre. In order to facilitate the cycling development, the Municipality of Hajdú-Bihar County prepared a Project Preparation Study (PET) in early 2022.

The main tasks of the designer for both sections are: road construction, traffic engineering, operator demarcation, public lighting, rainwater drainage, permits and implementation plans for related public utility replacements, preparation of a soil investigation report, obtaining the necessary permits and design approvals, construction (implementation) plan, public lighting plan, public utility and other cable plans (necessary public utility replacements).

The design will require the design of standard pedestrian-bicycle crossings on intersecting roads, combined with the design of street lighting. In addition, the replacement and relocation of street lighting and/or low and medium voltage poles and underground cables along the proposed route, and the approval of these plans.

The deadline for receipt of tenders is 4 September 2025.
