Road building
HE-DO is working on road repairs at Árpád Bridge.
In Budapest's 4th district, on the section of Attila Street between József Attila Street and Árpád Road, HE-DO is carrying out the complete renovation of the road surface. The investment, covering an area of 841 square metres, is being carried out using the Újpest Local Government's own resources, with the aim of renewing the worn road surface and ensuring safe, barrier-free transport for pedestrians, according to a statement on the Hungarian road and civil engineering company's website.
Work commenced on 3 November 2025: HE-DO is working on behalf of the local authority as part of a framework agreement.
The investment involves completely removing the existing, heavily worn asphalt pavement and replacing it with a new, single-layer, 5-centimetre-thick asphalt pavement. In addition, the pavement connections at the junction will be completely demolished and rebuilt in a barrier-free design, with lowered kerbs and tactile paving elements installed to make it safer for visually impaired people to use.
They work in several stages
In the first phase of the works, the pavement milling and kerb replacement have already been completed, and the replacement and levelling of public utility fittings is currently underway. The development is nearing completion. Following completion of the works, the date of technical handover will be set by the Újpest Local Government, with handover expected to take place in week 46.
The main purpose of the renovation is to replace the old, worn-out road surface and improve the quality and safety of transport, with particular emphasis on barrier-free transport. The street is mainly used by local residents, for whom the renewed road surface and modern, barrier-free pavement connections will bring significant improvements to their daily transport.
