The award, presented by the President of the Republic, is given every year to exemplary personalities who have contributed to the development of the country, and this year it was awarded to the Deputy Controller of the Épkar.

The Cross of Merit of Hungary is awarded in recognition of outstanding and exemplary activities in the service of the nation, in promoting the development of the country, in advancing the interests of the country and in enriching universal human values. The Cross of Merit is awarded by the President of the Republic in gold, silver and bronze, with civil (green) and military (red) grades.

On 13 March, János Fónagy, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of National Economy, presented state awards on the anniversary of the start of the 1848 revolution and war of independence. As highlighted in the tribute by József Tóth, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Épkar Zrt.:

"the renovation of the Hungarian State Opera House, the Ludovika Campus Project, the Puskás Ferenc Stadium, the Expo. World Expo 2020, as well as the successful construction of several sports and multifunctional halls"

was awarded the Cross of Merit.
