Bayer Homes could reform the market for detached houses

Construction group can also build a family house

The basic idea behind Bayer Homes originated from the following:

"we thought that if we already have a sensible design, materials procurement and construction methodology for condominium construction that results in modern and durable traditional solutions; why not try to apply it to the single-family housing market?" - said Róbert Ádók.

Building a house is a big event in a family's life, but the process is also significantly burdened by the challenges of the construction industry. They want to change, improve and accelerate this. "The goal is to make building a house a stressful process that doesn't take years and years to complete, with an uncertain bottom line."

"Our already established manufacturing capacity and our subcontractor network will be of great help in the processes," the business unit manager detailed the ambitious plans.

Practicality instead of uniqueness

A living space built quickly and according to a standard plan can meet all the requirements of a single-family house.  

"We have scaled our houses from 80 square metres to around 300. For the time being, we have 12-13 model designs, but we will expand this slightly according to customer and market demand. We have designed the model houses to offer a wide range of styles and sizes, from traditional vernacular houses to contemporary minimalist houses."

Tried and tested technology

"We were looking for a middle ground that would give the building the comfort and technical content expected in the 2020s, but without being excessive", the branch manager said. In terms of technical content, Bayer Construct designs prefabricated concrete prefabricated houses, which are not lightweight.

"A key argument in our favour is that we follow the construction from start to finish."

- said Róbert Ádók, and then stressed that "we don't have any fine print in the construction and later on there is no item associated with the final amount. We offer a package, in the price we undertake, the client receives a house ready to move into - with a built-in kitchen, ready bathroom, and electrical fittings. The customer can choose from a range of pre-designed, fixed type houses. There is less room for manoeuvre in terms of colours and atmosphere. They can choose between warm and cold cladding colours, interior door colours, but here too the aim is to offer a choice of materials optimised according to their mood."

The benefits of prefabrication can be seen on a small scale

"From the moment someone tells us where and which house they want us to build," he explained, "we take over the process. The goal is that when someone orders their house, the necessary elements are already available in the yard and it's just a matter of coordinating the logistics to get the construction time done," he added.

They work with amazingly fast technology, as the foundations are prefabricated, most of the masonry elements are delivered from stock, and the bathroom is built in one piece, together with sanitary ware and cold tiling. "This also means that there is no possibility to change the floor plan or the silhouette"," said Róbert Ádók, explaining the framework.

Focus on quality

Fortunately, as we are talking about building prefabricated houses and nodes, there is no need to improvise on site. As the branch manager pointed out, "we want to sell nationwide, so quality of workmanship is key for us, because that's how our houses will be judged."
