VEMÉV-SZER is this year's Enterprise of the Year

The city of Veszprém has been mentioned several times this year, as the title of European Capital of Culture is linked to a number of major developments. The local company VEMÉV-SZER Kft., a general construction company, has played a significant role in this, and has just received one of the most important economic awards in the county, the Enterprise of the Year Award.

According to the Veszprém County Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the aim of the award is to recognise micro, small, medium and large enterprises operating in Veszprém County, which have contributed to the economic growth of the region, as well as to the development of apprenticeship and employment, with their outstanding economic performance in the given year.

The engine of the local economy

The 2023 awards ceremony was held on 14 November, now for the sixteenth time. This highlight of the economic life of Veszprém County is organised by the Veszprém County Chamber of Commerce and Industry. As we learned from the report by Vehir: every year, the event also provides an opportunity to present the TOP 100+ 200 publication, which highlights the region's economic achievements and is produced in cooperation with the Veszprém County Tax and Customs Administration of the National Tax and Customs Administration, the Central Statistical Office and the Napló newspaper.

In the large enterprise category, the Entrepreneur of the Year Award was presented to managing director Ottó Boross, representing the winning company VEMÉVSZER Construction and Installation Industry Kft.. The company's activities cover all segments of the construction industry, including such major projects as

• the ActiCity and its associated parking garage,
• renovations on the University of Pannonia campus in Veszprém,
• the Deák Ferenc Street Occupational and Artistic Development Centre
• or The biggest green project in the centre of Veszprém, which has transformed the St Nicholas Calvary Hill and its surroundings into a continuous pedestrian zone.

„It is a great honour and pleasure for us that our company has won the Business of the Year Award,” – they emphasised in their their Facebook post, where they highlighted: „Without our cooperation and the support of our community, this success would not have been possible. We are grateful to our customers, partners and colleagues who trusted us and with whom we can work.”
