Two wheels for a good cause - SZABADICS mobilised the community for the recovery of Ádi

The SZABADICS Group played an active and prominent role in the CSÓTÓ 50 – Retro May Day Festival held in Nagykanizsa on 1 May, where they helped three-year-old Ádám Szabó from Nagykanizsa with a charity run and cooking.

The treatment of a child with Duchenne muscular dystrophy requires around 1 billion forints, with significant contributions from local communities and companies, including SZABADICS, one of the strongest supporters of the event.

Two gazebos, spinning bikes and community collaboration

The company has contributed not only financially, but also with an active presence. Two booths were set up at the event and two spinning bikes were provided, for which visitors queued up continuously.

"The company donated HUF 1000 for every kilometre driven to the Együtt Ádiért Foundation. On the 1st of May, the participants covered a total of 398 kilometres, which was topped up by a further 42 kilometres the next day by the University of Pannonia's University Centre for Circular Economy. The company rounded up the sum to 450,000 forints"

"We paid special attention to the social media campaign to make sure as many people as possible know about the event and join in. We raffled off a JBL speaker to those who shared our post, and the first 100 cyclists to win a gift pack." He added that they were delighted to see a steady queue at the bikes and that their initiative had moved many people.

Multiple organisations, common purpose, exemplary cooperation

The main organizer of the event, Szabolcs Szolvik (CONCEPT EVENTS Kft.) mobilized several local organizations for the good cause. In addition to SZABADICS, local fishing associations, the Hungarian National Fishing Association (MOHOSZ) and the Kanizsa Running Club joined in.

According to a Facebook post by Jácint Horváth, the town's mayor Facebook post, the money raised at the events was handed over on 6 May. Roland Szabadics, the chief operating officer of SZABADICS Építőipari Zrt., was also present at the event.

The fundraising box contained 1.493.700 HUF, which was donated by individuals and communities, and the runners' entry fees were also collected. The MOHOSZ sold nearly 200 portions of fish soup, which raised a donation of HUF 318,000. The amount donated by SZABADICS was 450,000 HUF. In addition, many people made direct donations to the Foundation's account.
