How the renovation of the railway station in Veszprém is progressing - photos

We have already reported several times that Veszprém railway station is being renovated as part of the European Capital of Culture programme. The investment will cost HUF 1.105 billion, partly from domestic budget support and HUF 355 million from MÁV own resources earmarked for this purpose. Work began in February 2023 began in February 2023, and new information and photos have recently been posted on the MÁV Facebook page about the project.

Work is also ongoing in the admissions building

As reported by the state railway company, work is ongoing in the reception building and its surroundings, with the installation of a barrier-free entrance on the city side and a new platform roof on the platform side. The project also includes the construction of a barrier-free toilet, where the contractor is currently working on the paving.

Meanwhile, the structures of the future passenger platforms on the central platform have been completed and part of the renewed passenger areas at the station - including the ticket hall - will be open to passengers in early July.

MÁV said in a statement that the construction is on schedule.
