New railway line and huge loading area to be built in Fejér county

Last year, Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium launched a public procurement procedure for the construction of a rail link between the Adony-Ivancsa industrial area, branching off from railway line 42. The greenfield railway project will be built on land previously used for agriculture. This means that the contractor will have to build completely new infrastructure. In total, the improvements will cover an area of more than 50 000 square metres. Some 46 thousand square metres will be transferred to the contractor through expropriation and land reclamation.

The work involves the construction of 5052 metres of new greenfield open line track. The new standard-gauge track will become part of the national rail network once it is handed over.

According to the EU public procurement notice announcement in the EU public procurement bulletin, the contractor for the investment, worth approximately HUF 23 billion, will be V-Híd Zrt..

Four new railway bridges and three crossings to be built

In addition, according to the call for tenders, the successful tenderer will be responsible for:

• four new railway bridges,
• telecommunications equipment,
• three level passagesconstruction of.

The works will include the reconstruction of the overhead contact line network at Adony station, the extension of the safety equipment on the station and open line sections, the construction of 1 053 metres of new station track, the modernisation of 1 087 metres of track, the demolition of 3 sets of sidings in the station area, the relocation of one set of sidings and the installation of 6 sets of new sidings.

Twenty thousand square metres of loading space under construction

As part of the development, a 20,000 square metre basalt concrete loading area will be built, as well as offices and social facilities for workers. Noise protection elements will also be built.

The largest greenfield development in Hungary is currently underway in Iváncsa, Fejér County. The project, which started in May 2021, will see the construction of a battery factory on 135 hectares for the South Korean-owned SK Innovation under the Market Építő Zrt. project. The project is scheduled to reach full completion in March 2023.
