What is being built?
Volvo Hungária Kft.'s new head office and truck service building completed in six months
The new base being built in Ecseren, Volvo Hungária Kft., has reached its structural completion stage and will be the company's most modern and greenest building complex. The project is being carried out by Weinberg ’93 Építő Kft. and the client commemorated this milestone event with a topping-out ceremony.
The greenfield investment project was launched in April this year, with the commercial vehicle company's new domestic headquarters and the most modern Volvo Truck Centere in the Central and Eastern European region being built in accordance with the plans of Óbuda Group based on the plans for the Weinberg. The work is progressing according to schedule, with the building reaching its highest point in six months.
When designing the modern, multifunctional office, it was important to tailor it to the client's needs, providing a quality working environment for employees.
During the construction and operation of the site, great emphasis is placed on sustainability and climate neutrality. This is where the client's and contractor's mindsets converge, as Weinberg also considers these values to be extremely important and uses sustainable technologies in many of its projects.
In keeping with tradition, the bush festival held in October included a meal for managers and staff to thank them for their efforts to make the project a reality. A video was also made of the event.
New centre enables more interactive partner services
Borbély János, project leader of the Weinberg ’93 Kft., also thanked the Volvo Hungária Kft. for the order. He stressed that his company will do its utmost to ensure that this important development is completed in the best possible way, in the most beautiful way and on time.
A new era is beginning in the life of the Volvo Hungária Kft. - this is what Tomás Somogyi, Service Retail Director and Project Manager of the Volvo Hungária Kft., spoke about at the event. "We expect that in this new environment we will be able to offer our partners an even higher quality service. But perhaps more importantly, it will bring our own staff and our customers closer together, allowing us to provide a more interactive, higher quality service."
He added that they are proud that the new site will be climate neutral, and that this is just one step in the company's environmental commitment. The project manager is confident that the new environment will bring many exciting opportunities and new challenges.
A modern office with a huge green area
As we previously reported, the building complex will also feature a separate truck wash, a customer lounge, a used vehicle dealership and a reception area. The main building of Volvo's new headquarters will consist of four organically connected parts:
- two-storey office,
- bus service,
- truck service,
- examination and training centre.
The development will cover an area of around 5.5 thousand square metres, with more than 23 thousand square metres of green space and 125 trees. Some 35,000 square metres will be paved. The project will be completed in just over a year, by July 2024.
