The investor and contractor of the Klapka Residence condominium in the 13th district of the capital, Klapka Projekt Kft. , has been maintaining a professional relationship for more than a decade with Cemix Hungary Kft., which has one of the widest portfolios in the market for plasters and cold covering products. The two companies have implemented numerous joint projects. The Klapka Residence apartment building, whose construction began in 2019, is the latest addition to this list. The 87-apartment condominium was handed over to residents in 2023.

For the masonry work, Cemix MM 3 and M5 Poren thin-bed masonry mortar was used. The popularity of the former product is due to its versatility, being well suited for both new and old residential and public buildings. The factory-mixed dry mortar is mixed with water for only 3-5 minutes immediately before use and can then be applied by hand or machine. In addition, M5 Poren premixed dry mortar, which can be used as a thin-bed masonry mortar for both old and new buildings due to its flexibility and good adhesion, has also been used in construction.

The façade insulation system protects both the occupants and the building structure

The investor and contractor of the Klapka Residence Condominium used the Cemix Thermosystem façade insulation system for the façade construction. This solution protects not only the residents but also the building's masonry: when temperatures drop below zero, the properly sized insulation layer prevents frost from damaging the building's load-bearing structure.

In Thermosystem systems, the thermal insulation layer is formed by insulation boards fixed to the masonry with special adhesives or dowels. This surface is reinforcedby a further layer of glass fibre mesh embedded in the system adhesive. The plaster underlay is then applied as an external element, followed by the colour render, which is intended to protect the insulation system from the elements and to give the building its external character.
