7000 square metres of the Sports Hospital renovated - inauguration ceremony
On 15 May, the National Institute of Sports Medicine (OSEI) – better known as the Sports Hospital – held a ceremonial project closing event to mark the renovation of several of its refurbished units. Bence Rétvári, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Interior stressed at today's event that the project is a nine billion forint investment, which will

He added: state-of-the-art equipment worth billions of euros has been installed at the renovated site. Among other things, he also stressed that the Sports Hospital is an institution that can help not only sportsmen and women, but also all other Hungarian people to recover.
Long-term planning for hospital renovation and development
At the event, Viktor Orbán's welcoming letter was read out, in which the Prime Minister also stressed that the Sports Hospital is close to his heart in many ways.Zoltán Nyul, Deputy State Secretary for Building Construction of the Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium said that it is essential and key to provide space for investments that can have an impact on the Hungarian society as a whole.
"We have to put our facilities in order for the long term through operation, and this has been done here, thanks to the improvements, the Sports Hospital can operate economically every day without endangering the health of those being treated. The units just handed over are the first phase of the investment, with the hope that there will be a second phase, while the external facade insulation work will be completed by the summer, which will also contribute to the economic operation of the facility, the State Secretary said.
The façade renovation work is being carried out by HÉP Horváth Építőmester Zrt. According to our information, this is confirmed by data from the Public Procurement Bulletin confirm.
The renovation affects the entire outpatient and sports medicine services
The newly renewed units of the OSEI were presented to the press by Agnes Soós, the facility's chief medical officer, who said,
A total of more than 7,000 square metres has been renovated on four floors of the building, including the entire outpatient and sports medicine services.
He pointed out that the institute is involved in the whole "cycle", as athletes receive their licence to compete here, and in case of injury they return here, where they can undergo rehabilitation after examinations and appropriate treatment, and then after the check-up they get the "green light" to return to sport. Ágnes Soós stressed that sports medicine education and training is also provided here, as the new facility has all the infrastructure needed for this.
