Kőszeg can replace the dilapidated old swimming pool with a new one

A new swimming pool may be built on the site of the former swimming pool in Kőszeg, according to the conditional public procurement published on TED. The Építési és Közlekedési Minisztérium call for tenders concerns the demolition of the former swimming pool and the construction of a new swimming pool in its place. In both cases, the design is also the responsibility of the winning bidder.

The data also show that ÉKM has launched the procurement on a conditional basis, so that the entry into force of the contract will be conditional on the availability of the full resources needed to perform the contract.

Not reopened after the outbreak

According to previous press reports, the 1075 square metre swimming pool was built in 2000. It was closed in 2022 due to the coronavirus epidemic, but was never reopened after it needed major reconstruction and is now in a dilapidated state.

A 15×25 m large pool with a water depth of 190 cm and a 6×10 m teaching pool with a depth of 80 cm are planned to be built in the new facility. The three-storey building will have a useful floor area of 1311.8 m2 and will be powered by solar panels, according to earlier reports.
