Contractor sought for large-scale investment project on Gellért Hill
In the Mathias Corvinus Collegium (MCC) Somlói út investment, a new complex will replace the gaping scar on Gellért Hill as a modern educational building complex. According to the call for tenders published on TED, Gerhardus Talentum Ingatlanfejlesztő Kft. intends to establish a talent development centre here and is currently seeking participants for its design and construction work.
As part of this large-scale project, the buildings of the National Command of the Workers" Guard, a paramilitary organisation from the communist era, were demolished. For more information, see here. On the corner plot bordered by Somlói Road and Szent Sebestény Street, ZÁÉV carried out the demolition work, while NAPUR Építész Iroda was responsible for the plans.
A complex with an underground car park and sports hall is being built
The successful tenderer will be responsible for preparing the detailed design documentation and general construction of the centre at Somlói út MCC. The talent development centre building complex can essentially be divided into two large structural units.
One is the educational unit on the eastern side of the property, the so-called palace building, which will house dormitory, educational and office functions. This part of the building complex has two basement levels, a ground floor, 4+1 upper floors and an attic.
The other structural unit of the building complex is the part of the building located on the western side of the property, which includes sports fields, a car park and mechanical rooms, and has two basement levels. According to the design documentation, the building complex has 12 lifts.
The building will feature
- dormitory area with 176 rooms, private bathroom,
- education, office, conference, library and service areas,
- kitchen and restaurant,
- sports hall and its service areas,
- operational, electrical, mechanical areas,
- basement underground car park with 75 parking spaces, plus
- stairwells with 12 lifts.
The campus, which will be rich in green spaces, will have a floor area of approximately 4,500 square metres.
