On 11 November, the new Manóliget Nursery in Érd was officially opened, at a cost of approximately one billion forints. Thanks to the development, there are now 84 places available for the little ones, instead of the 56 originally planned.

A new nursery school was handed over on 11 November in Érd, worth approximately one billion forints. As Mayor László Csőzik said at the opening ceremony, the town originally won the tender for a nursery with 56 places, but as there are so many children, with 750 babies born each year, the waiting list is very long. He added that the town therefore decided to expand the project slightly and redesign it for 84 places instead of 56, which ultimately resulted in a nursery with six group rooms.

The building has a floor area of 770 square metres with 18 parking spaces and 12 bicycle racks. The building also has a pram storage room, a kitchenette and a milk kitchen.

- he added.

The mayor also summarised where the funds for the development of the Manóliget Nursery, a project of the municipal government, came from. He revealed that the town of Érd covered most of the costs from EU subsidies, receiving 650 million forints for the nearly one billion forint development. The Hungarian state also contributed 157 million forints to the construction of the nursery.

We have also reported on the construction of the institution several times in the recent period.

Nurseries are also important from an economic perspective

Tibor Navracsics, Minister of Public Administration and Regional Development, spoke at the ceremony about how Érd is a positive example in that local city leaders, council members and members of parliament all consider it important to keep young people in the region. He added that this is why he is pleased that the Hungarian government has contributed to the construction of the nursery.

The minister said that the nursery, which cost nearly one billion forints to build, will enable mothers and fathers to return to work and earn an income, thereby contributing to their own families' finances and to the national economy.
