The revitalised Siófok spa is in the home stretch: the first guests may arrive in March
The renovation of the Galerius Baths in Siófok is already at the stage of official water sampling, according to the local municipal news site.
As we previously reported, the facility had to be closed in 2021 for technical and safety reasons. The current renovation is aimed at creating a long-term sustainable spa that complies with today's regulations. The modernisation, carried out by Fehérép építőipari Kft. in Székesfehérvár and Fürdőpark vízgépészeti Kft. in Budapest, is being implemented as part of an investment of approximately 1.8 billion forints, which is also linked to significant state tourism support.
According to the latest information from Siófoki Hírek, technical handover began in early January, the pools are currently being filled, and the necessary official inspections can now commence. The technical handover will be completed by mid-February, followed by the installation of equipment and preparations for the opening, after which the spa will be able to reopen its doors at the end of March.
As part of the renovation, the saunas have been completed and the kitchen and restaurant are also being fitted out. Meanwhile, recruitment of the workforce needed to run the facility has begun.
