Comprehensive road rehabilitation programme starts in Dombóvár

The reconstruction of 17 streets and a roundabout will also be completed by the end of the year.

More than 700 million forints will be spent to renovate roads in Dombóvár with the support of the EU's Operational Programme for Spatial and Urban Development Plus.

The town hall informed that the construction will be carried out in two phases. Once the contractor has been selected, the reconstruction of the busiest sections of the roads identified in the tender will begin. Seventeen streets will be reconstructed by the end of the year.

According to the information published on the State Tender Portal , these are as follows: Fő Street, the Fő Street roundabout, Radnóti Street, Pannónia Street, Kölcsey Street, Dózsa Gy. Street, Ady E. Street, VI. Street, Gyöngyvirág Boulevard, Zrínyi Street, Gyár Street, Teleki Street, Katona J. Street, Rezeda Street, Liliom Street, Báthori Street, Szt. Vendel Street, and Erzsébet Street.

Public transport routes are given priority

Mayor Szilárd Pintér said that the sections of the roads that affect local public transport have been prioritised, and several roads in very poor condition have been included in the list of those to be renovated.

The municipality also reminded that in 2020, road renovation and maintenance works were started in Dombóvár to an unprecedented extent. Among other things, a 300-metre stretch of road was completed in Dombóvár-Szőlőhegy, in Újdombóvár Radnóti Street, Mikes Street, Main Street between III Street and IX Street, and the asphalting of Dőry Street, Garay Street and the lower section of Dombó Pál Street.
